BOJUKA RYU
His dedication to Bojuka Ryu and the Martial Arts was immeasurable. He spent many tireless hours to help his students and support the Arts. His wish of building the headquarters for Bojuka Ryu was realized in 2001 when he organized his students to build not only the headquarters but a brand new dojo for them to train in as well as for the many generations to come.
For health reasons, he ceased instructing in 2002 and promoted his Dojo Instructor, Sensei Eddie Nakao, to Head Instructor. Sensei Nakao is currently teaching in the same capacity today.
Shihan Eddie G. Stewart passed away on March 7, 2014. His shoes will never be filled, but we will continue to keep the teachings and spirit of Bojuka Ryu alive to all those stepping on the mat.

Eddie Nakao
Head Instructor
Sensei Eddie Nakao studied directly under Shihan Stewart, founder of Bojuka Ryu with whom he earned his 7th degree Blackbelt; he also holds a 4th degree Blackbelt in Judo through the United States Judo Federation and is a certified International Coach through U.S.A. Judo, the National governing body of Judo for the United States.
Sensei Nakao has been training, competing, instructing, and studying the martial arts for over 50 years. Besides coaching and teaching children, teens, and adults self-defense, preparation for the competition arena if they choose, and studying the arts to improve the quality of their lives, his goal is to pass on the many benefits that Bojuka Ryu and Judo can bring to each individual regardless of their path. The disciplines and virtues will assist the student to develop their own vision towards a life of purpose, happiness, and fulfillment.
